We're off to see the Law Lords...

Well the tickets are purchased and the shirt and suit pressed: I’m all ready to see justice in action! My mooting partner and I are off to observe the argument of R (on the application of Gentle) v. The Prime Minister and will hopefully be back at Westminster on Wednesday to hear the closing speech and response. This promises to be a particularly exciting case, not only for the complicated legal and polarising political issues raised, but because nine of the Lords of Appeal in Ordinary will be hearing it, a rare occurrence. Oh, to finally be able to put a voice to the judgments, though I do expect some disappointments, Lord Bingham of Cornhill, sounds like Patrick Stewart to these internal ears at the moment while both Lord Hope of Craighead and Lord Rodger of Earlsferry get the Richard Briers treatment.
